Internship at the International Criminal Law Network from 1 January until 1 June 2012
Internship:
The International Criminal Law Network (ICLN) aims to facilitate social and professional interaction between legal professionals, academic, experts and policymakers in international criminal law. In order to reach this goal, ICLN annually organises informal meetings, lectures, an annual conference and the ICLN ICC trial Competition.
ICLN was founded in June 2002. It is part of the unit International Law of Science Alliance, a private institution specialising in the creation of networks between academics and practice. The ICLN network is composed of private members and institutional partners. Currently, ICLN has close to 200 members from over 60 countries.
As a young, dynamic organisation, ICLN is always looking for new opportunities to create more interaction in the field of international criminal law.
ICLN is looking for an intern to undertake and/or assist in the following activities:
Tasks:
Assisting in the organisation of the ICLN ICC Trial Competition 2012, a moot court competition focussed on international criminal law and the International Criminal Court. For the 2012 edition, which will take place from 22 – 27 April, we received 33 registrations.
Organising independently a lecture on an international criminal law issue.
Keeping the ICLN website up-to-date and in particular the news section for members.
Assisting in the general management of the organisation, including membership registration, administrative support and information distribution to the members.
Assisting in organising an expert meeting on international fraud and corruption.
Qualifications:
Enthusiasm, assertiveness and ambition are key qualifications.
Candidate must be in or entering the final stages of his/her studies in international law, public administration or a related field.
Excellent command of English, both in speech and writing.
Good communicative and organisational skills.
Excellent computer skills are considered an asset.
Candidate must be able to work independently in the preparation and execution of activities.

Compensation: the intern grant is a fixed amount of €50 per month for a 40 hour work week.
